Active-duty Airmen and some of their family members are among those who can take advantage of reduced tuition for a new postsecondary education program to be offered at Ellsworth Air Force Base in the fall.
The South Dakota Board of Regents in July approved a reduced tuition rate for active-duty Airmen, their spouses and dependents, and U.S. Department of Defense civilians who work on Ellsworth Air Force Base. The approval of the reduced tuition follows the selection this month of Black Hills State University (BHSU) to operate a local campus on Ellsworth.
The new per-credit-hour rates of $250 for undergraduate courses and $300 for graduate coursework were approved as part of BHSU’s proposal to provide education at Ellsworth.
Active-duty personnel at Ellsworth previously received a $250 discounted rate at BHSU in Rapid City and for online courses and will continue to receive that benefit under this plan.
