With everything going on, it's easy to understand how college students may forget or may not realize they need to file a renewal FAFSA.

To remind those students about completing a renewal FAFSA, the Department of Education is sending out notices to students that the 2023-24 FAFSA is now available. The Department said it is sending emails and SMS notifications, when applicable, to 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filers (and parents of dependent 2022-23 FAFSA filers) who have not yet submitted a 2023-24 FAFSA form.

According to the announcement, the goal of the campaign is to remind students and parents that the 2023-24 FAFSA form is available and should be completed soon for those going to school between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024.
