More career resources now available for South Dakotans

The definition of career success may vary among people, but there’s likely agreement that a high-demand, high-wage occupation is key to being successful.

To help South Dakota counselors and students learn more about the hot careers right now, the South Dakota Department of Labor & Regulations has updated its list of hot careers (high demand-high wage occupations) in its Labor Market Information Center.

In addition, the Department of Labor and Regulation has updated other resources, including the following:

• Top 30 Hot Careers flyer (30 occupations with the greatest projected demand)
• Occupational Profiles of Hot Careers (descriptions, work interest areas, work values, education and training required, etc.)
• Links to learn more about each Hot Career in the Virtual Labor Market Data System
• Links to Current Job Openings in each Hot Career
• Table of employment and demand data, as well as wage estimates on which the Hot Careers are determined
