Hands-on training sometimes combined with formal education make for a powerful combination for any student planning for the future.
As a part of the 85th anniversary of the National Apprenticeship Act, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) recently announced several initiatives to expand Registered Apprenticeships. According to a Fact Sheet issued by DOL, “Registered Apprenticeship is an industry-driven, high quality career pathway where employers can develop and prepare their future workforce, and individuals can obtain paid work experience, receive progressive wage increases, classroom instruction, and a portable, nationally-recognized credential.”
DOL offers an Apprenticeship Finder tool that enables anyone to search and find potential opportunities and apply online for an apprenticeship position.
