Better information often leads to better decisions, and often that information is hidden in the data.

South Dakota counselors and educators can learn how to use ACT data to improve instruction, curriculum, and high school programming in a free half-day workshop on Tuesday, April 26, in Pierre.

Sherry Reed, ACT senior account executive for South Dakota, will share strategies for using ACT data from PreACT 8/9, the PreACT and The ACT to drive instruction in classrooms, schools, and school systems.

The workshop instruction will include several scenarios for practice with using the data and identifying research based instructional strategies to improve student learning. Reed will also discuss use of the data to evaluate strengths and weaknesses in local curriculum as well as application to school improvement goals.

Although the workshop is free, counselors and educators must register for the event, which will be held at the Capital City Campus in Pierre.
