South Dakota students still have about a month to apply for admission at select colleges and universities in the state without paying an admissions fee.
The South Dakota Board of Regents and participating institutions have removed the cost of applying at those institutions during the Free Application Period, which lasts until November 30.

The primary purpose of this effort is to help high school seniors navigate the complex college admissions process and ensure they apply to a postsecondary institution.
The Free Application Period is offered by the South Dakota Board of Regents and the participating institutions and is, in part, an effort to increase the number of first-generation students and students from low-income families pursuing a college degree or other higher education credential.
"We hope students will take this opportunity to learn more about the unique academic opportunities in our state and take the first step toward their future," said BOR Executive Director Dr. Brian Maher.
