Boost your career opportunities through Career Launch SD

- By Lisa M. Johnson, South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation

If you are between the ages of 16-24 with little to no work history and want to gain real world work experience, Career Launch SD may be able to help.

The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) provides this no-cost resource to eligible individuals looking to develop tools needed to gain meaningful work experiences. Our advisors work one-on-one with you to help not only with career exploration, interview skills, resume writing, and financial awareness but also in connecting to area businesses for informational interviews, job shadows, industry tours and more.

Career Launch may also be able to assist with costs associated with technical schools and apprenticeships. DLR has reviewed eligible programs to ensure high-demand jobs exist.

Visit CareerLaunchSD.com to find a Job Service office near you to determine your eligibility. We want to screen you in, not out. If eligible, you will be matched with an advisor who will support you along the way.

Even if you are not eligible for monetary services, DLR can assist you with job searches, career interest inventories, resumes, applications and interview preparation.

You have what it takes to be great. You can do it. We're here to help. Local office locations are listed online at www.sdjobs.org/localoffices/default.aspx.
