It is like a gift yet to be opened.
The 2019-20 school year is underway, and it is a time of excitement and anticipation.
Each day will likely bring joy and, along with the joy, will likely come some challenges. To experience all of the good things the year brings while dealing with any stressful situations, practice these three things:
- Keep a positive attitude. Recognize that each challenging situation is likely only temporary. If you have a tough assignment, do not agree with a teacher, or are adjusting to a new school, remember all of this is only temporary. Practice looking for the good in every challenge you face. In time, you will become stronger and may find that less and less of what you confront is a challenge to you.
- Persevere. Don't give up the first time you experience a problem. What may be a problem from your perspective could only be a part of the learning process. It may take several tries to accomplish some assignment or you may need extra help in a class. The strength of fortitude is an admirable quality and building that trait now may help you later in life.
- Prepare. It may be that some of the challenges we face could be easily overcome if we were prepared. Granted, some situations come upon us unawares. However, there are times, we know what we need to do - like study for a test, prepare paperwork in advance of a deadline, or even just go to bed to get enough sleep for the next day.
The 2019-20 academic year is a gift full of treasures that we will not fully realize until next spring. Do all you can to accept this year as a wonderful gift and do so graciously.
